Travel Bag

So with all the snow and ice we've received here in Ohio, I was in need of a warm thoughts. My husband and I are going on a trip with some college friends to the Dominican Republic in August. With that thought, I decided I really need a travel bag for the trip.  Here's the beauty from the outside (don't stop you HAVE to see the inside)
Last night, I was laying out the fabric trying to decide what I wanted. When we travel, I always have my Kindle, so it needed a home. When you go through the airport, they need your ID (or in the hotel, you have a hotel key when you go to the beach) and finally a place for cash/coins.

I was finished with the design, when my husband asks me if I could make a place for his iPad. Here's the inside:

 Close-up of the pockets

This was my first attempt to sew plastic is a nice holder for an ID or keycard (or MyPanera which happened to be sitting the closest to me). Under it is.... a zipper pocket!!! This was my second zipper attempt. I spent 4 hours yesterday trying to understand how zippers get sewed in. In the end, I did it my way which is not how other sites show you. I like it with the little yellow ends.

The Kindle pocket

The other side is 100% dedicated to the iPad. That pocket is huge but he had it with him at work, so I had to go by my measurements from last night. I think it might be on the big side.
Ok, now the fashion show with it.
I'm still learning how to take pictures of my goods. Have you made anything to get you in the wishful-warm-weather mood? I know I'm ready to go on vaca.... tomorrow

I love how cute it turned out. That yellow stripe made it look so happy :)

Btw, I remember you showing interest in our Swap Followings Linky Party. Just to let you know that after much deliberation and inputs from some participants, our linky party will immediately happen every first Monday of the month. That means we won’t have the linky party on February 14th but will resume on March 7th. Why? As a newbie, I didn't realize how much time it takes to host a party and now, my time for do-it-yourself projects is lessened, add the fact that I also have work and mommy responsibilities. In addition to these, I'm also looking after the participants' needs. This is supposed to mean a fun and exciting event for all of us, not a chore, hence, a monthly party thereby we can have more vigor and passion when the special date arrives.

I hope you don’t mind if I send you a reminder letter on the day of the event so we can all hangout together and keep each other updated of the latest and greatest in our lives. If you don’t want me to invite you on that day, please email me back so I can delete you in my list and honor your wishes.
