No-Sew Doggie Bandanna

Well, we got another dog yesterday, and I thought: gee, she needs a really cute bandanna.  But after reading a whole bunch of really awesome Mormon housewife blogs, I came to the conclusion that I should make it, instead of buy it.

So, I dug through all the scraps that my mother recently donated to me, and found some girly-looking stuff that would work.  I also found this iron-on seam binding tape from, like, the dinosaur age.  But when I saw it I thought: hmmm, I don't have to get the sewing machine out--yay!

Okay, so I took an old bandanna of Toby's and cut Darla's fabric to match.  Then I cut a heart out of some cute girly Paris-themed fabric.  Here is a picture of Toby helping:

The true story is that he wouldn't get out of the way while I was trying to take the picture, so he got included.

So anyways, I cut the seam binding tape to match all the edges:

And a close-up of the tape: it basically has two lines of glue, and you iron it on-pretty handy!

Then I took my trusty glue gun and glued the heart on, as well as a little ribbon border:

I painted some hearts, a little border, and some glitter accents so it would be extra girly.

Now time for a photo shoot.  Sorry for the poor quality of these images--she was so excited last night that she was a little hard to catch in a "still" position!

Toby and Darla are going to be best friends, with their bandannas!

It's a little big on her right now, but she'll grow into it!
