Crate Covers

Well my husband and I teamed up for a project this week: dog crate covers.  Our dogs are kennel-trained, which means that they see their cages as a safe place to go and take a nap, hide from a thunderstorm, or just hang out.  Like most dogs, they prefer that the cages are cave-like, which up until now has meant covering the cages with blankets or towels.  Today, we made a more permanent solution which also matches our decor better than the old Barbie towel from my 7th birthday party.

This will be a short post because they are pretty self explanatory.  The important thing to remember is that you do not have to go out and buy expensive fabric.  We used an old sheet for one of our cage covers!

Measure the cage, cute the fabric to fit, sew it together.  One of our cages has two doors, so we had to make a different style of cover.  Basically, we left out a side, and attached the cover using ribbons.  Overall, I would say they came out okay.  Nothing fancy, but they do the job.
